The Children of the Corn Series
Spawned in the mid-80s by Stephen King's short story, the terrifying film Children of the Corn was made. It was followed by a brilliant sequel, and then a bunch of frightening but not so good chapters. However, it still remains one of the more popular horror series of the 80s and early 90s.
