Summary
This is a beautifully done film that will win the hearts of children and adults alike. The voices for the three animals are great, especially Michael J. Fox as the comic street-bred puppy who is still trying to learn about the outside world. It's a sweet and soul-warming film that everyone should see more than a few times in their life.

Reviews
Stygian Films: "This is probably the most beautiful family film/drama ever created. The three main characters are likable, especially the rowdy puppy Chance. It's a great adaptation of Burnford's novel."
At-A-Glance: "Some of the script is played for laughs, yet this does not compromise the suspense, drama, or heart of the story, and there's an abundance of each. A word of praise must be said about the cinematography, also: it's gorgeous, capturing the animals and the scenery at their best. This one should please the young and old alike."
Leonard Maltin: "...the story is compelling, and the vocal performances excellent, especially Ameche, as the older, more faithful canine. Sure-fire Disney family entertainment."
Hollywood.com: "The story is exciting and the three lead actors provide great vocal performances, making Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey a fine family film."
Videoflicks: "This is the best movie ever!"
Washington Post: "There's nothing better than the simple emotions, free of video-age impurity."
Disney Review: "This thrilling and thoroughly captivating theatrical hit from Disney has become an instant favorite with audiences of all ages. You'll lose your heart to Chance, a fun-loving American bulldog pup; Sassy, a hilarious Himalayan cat who lives up to her name; and Shadow, a wise old golden retriever - all of whom express themselves with very familiar human voices!"
ABC TV: "A+. An instant classic!"
