Synopsis
A mysterious killer is using popular urban legends as the grounds for a number of strange murders....each more intense than the last. As the frightened college students turn suspicious towards one another, all players become suspects, and it's everyone for themselves in a complex and crazy blood bath.

Summary
'Urban Legend' is a great movie. It's very frightening and suspenseful, with an intense, twisted ending that you'll never suspect. You become suspicious of everyone, and have no idea who to root for. Rebecca Gayheart won my eternal respect as Brenda, and this is the first movie I saw with Jared Leto....and I loved him. All the acting was great, the action was awesome, and the story was just amazing. I saw this movie the day it came out, a week later, and walked in on it two weeks later after seeing something else. Horror fans should love it.

Notable Quotes

"You have a party to commemorate a massacre?!" -- Brenda
"You betcha." -- Parker

"He once convinced a sophomore he was the middle Hanson brother, just so he could get laid." -- Parker

"Where are you?" -- Tosh
"In your room." -- Killer

Reviews

Stygian Films: "An edge-of-your-seat thriller that will make you laugh, jump, scream, and swear. The cast is great....Jared Leto is great and Rebecca Gayheart has just scored her best role ever. It's not as good as Scream (but then again nothing is) but it's much better than I Know What You Did, and I definitely reccommend it."

E! Online: "While Urban Legend could easily be dubbed "I Know What You Screamed Last Halloween," the gimmicky premise keeps this tension-filled scarefest afloat."

Movie Thing: "The movie is well photographed and pretty well acted. There are many funny moments as well as hidden jokes, such as the Dawson's Creek theme playing as Joshua Jackson's character starts his car. The ending is also extremely surprising and makes complete sense, unlike some recent movies."

Washington Post: "After the movie, I checked the back seat of my car before I got in."

Entertainment Weekly: "Proficiently filmed and utterly uninspired, it at least features a ghostly lead performance by Cybill's Alicia Witt and a final twist that's entertainingly stupid."

Nitrate Online: "Alicia Witt, as plucky Natalie, comports herself well enough. But it's Rebecca Gayheart, as Natalie's friend Brenda, who contributes the performance that most sticks in your mind afterwards. Her face framed by auburn hair that seems to swirl at times, her character both warm and forthrightly appealing, yet alluring and glittering with all sorts of unexplored, or unrevealed, potentials underneath. And the director, Jamie Blanks, and screenwriter, Silvio Horta, come up with a twist ending that doesn't disappoint."

Movie Guy: "The young cast is first rate. Urban Legend also is a very nice looking film, it doesn't have the claustrophobic feel of some older horror films."
